CII in association with their Knowledge Partner, Deloitte released a report titled “Blue-collared GenY study” against the backdrop of the CII National Conclave on Employee Relations on 26 November, 2015 at New Delhi.
India is passing through a phase of unprecedented demographic changes. In absolute numbers, there will be around 63.5 million new entrants to the working age group between 2011 and 2016. This demographic shift has also affected the blue-collared workforce in India. With a view to understand the aspiration, issues, and challenges of the blue-collared work force, CII along with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP (Deloitte India) initiated the 2nd edition of the Generation Next Workforce Study.
The objective of the study was to provide directional inputs to HR and Business Leaders for aligning future HR policies with the aspirations of the workforce to ensure attraction, retention, and engagement. The study covered around 8000+ permanent and contractual workforce in companies with different sizes based across the country. The study will have a meaningful impact in understanding the changing dynamics and expectations of the Gen Next workforce and enable organizations to align their workforce with their vision in a better way.
