CII in association with their Knowledge Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) released a publication against the backdrop of the Conference on Smart Urbanisation 2015 organized by CII on 5 February, 2015 at Gurgaon.
Haryana has transformed itself from a state only known for its agriculture production to a state known for well-rounded development. It has set the example for planned economic development and has emerged as one of the leading Indian states in terms of per capita income.
The CII-PwC report focusses on the theme of ‘smart urbanisation’ and contends that city administrators and policymakers will have a critical role to play in terms of articulating the overall strategy for the development and transformation of Haryana’s urban spaces into smart cities. It recommends a state level state taskforce to be formed to drive state smart city policy, planning and programme implementation guidelines and a city level sub taskforce to drive the implementation based on localized problems.
A roadmap is formulated to transform Haryana’s cities into smart cities in order to sustain urbanisation.
