The BEPS project is extremely relevant for India, especially the action plans dealing with treaty abuse, permanent establishment, intangibles, digital economy, and transfer pricing documentation and country-by-country reporting. The relevance of BEPS is from an India outbound as well as India inbound perspective. Implementation of BEPS would involve amendments being undertaken to the domestic tax laws and tax treaties by various countries, including India. With this background, CII published and released a Thought Leadership on “BEPS – An Indian perspective on critical areas” at the recently concluded Conference on “BEPS: Big Change in Global Taxation – Impact on India”.
