Confederation of Indian Industry’s approach in the area of Affirmative Action includes intervention in four key areas – Entrepreneurship, Employability, Education and Employment. CII Member companies have been encouraged to reach out to the Scheduled Caste (SC) & Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities using one or more of these interventions. Till now 561 companies across India have accepted CII’s Code of Conduct on Affirmative Action.
Awareness has been created in Industry about the importance of Affirmative Action to further social stability and cohesion, so necessary for business. A beginning has been made in many companies to embed Affirmative Action for the SC/ST communities in their HR and business processes.
Endeavour is an effort by CII in this regard and also to capture and showcase best practices taken up by CII members.
