In line with the announcement of the 'Make in India', CII in association with ARC Advisory Group and The International Society of Automation (ISA) took up Smart Manufacturing as a core focus area. This short
survey is a part of the initiative which was
followed by a joint discussion paper titled
"Smart Manufacturing – Leveraging
Technologies for Greater Productivity." Responses were encouraged from both
current and potential users, who were asked
to answer the questions from the perspective
of the solution type they use.
This report is based on the analysis of the feedback from potential users of Smart Manufacturing solutions, and provides insights on the major challenges, status, trends, and opportunities for adoption of Smart Manufacturing in India. In the first part of the survey, the audience perspective about policies and initiatives like Make in India, Digital India, or Skill India was taken into account. The survey also focused on how these initiatives impact and encourage modernization of manufacturing in general and on adoption of Smart Manufacturing practices in particular.
