Co-produced with the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India and Deloitte India, the ASHE 2014 report focuses on the implementation status of RUSA (Rashtriya Uchchtar Shiksha Abhiyan), the Government’s new centrally-sponsored mission on higher education. It also gives an overview of the key challenges and recent reforms which are at various stages of conceptualization or implementation. In addition, the study also lays emphasis on incentivizing States and institutions to focus on improving quality.
The report provides a snapshot of the socio-demographic data, the key higher education indicators, university and college level statistics and identifies trends in growth of student enrolment in all states and union territories amongst others.
The report was released during the 4th AICTE-CII Global University-Industry Congress held on the sidelines of the Knowledgexpo “Infinite Possibilities” organised by CII and the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Government of India on 20-21 November, 2014 at Greater Noida.
