This report was prepared with the objective of disseminating policy initiatives taken by the various State Governments to attract investments in their respective states. This report also aims to serve as a ready reckoner and help investors take informed decision.
The Report is divided into three sections:
The first section gives an economic, demographic, infrastructure and industrial overview of the Western states. This section also discuss the availability of industrial inputs such as land, water and power in the states.
The second section is a Compendium of State Industrial and Sectoral Policies, which aims to give a snapshot of policies and incentive schemes being provided by the State Governments to attract investments. This part presents a comparison amongst policies of States in Western Region and a few other select States of India on various parameters. The Report also endeavours to compare the sector- specific policies some of which include agro processing policy, ESDM policy, IT & ITeS policy, tourism policy, electronics manufacturing policy and defence policy for these states
The third section of the report maps the progress achieved by the Western states on Business Reform Action Plan-2016, based on 336 parameters.
