India and Europe share longstanding, historical ties bonded by trade and movement of people across centuries. The European economy has become a preferred market and investment destination for India. The current global scenario of shared global challenges as well as India’s robust growth journey calls for wider economic engagement that spans more countries of the region and more dimensions of interaction.
Given this backdrop, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has brought out the report' India-Europe: Catalyzing Cooperation' prepared in conjunction with the India Europe Business and Sustainability Conclave organized by CII between 28 February – 1 March 2023 in New Delhi.
The report examines the dimensions of current trade and investment relations between India and the European economies, identifies potential products that the key European economies can source from India based on a statistical analysis, highlights areas of potential cooperation and provides recommendations on the way forward for deepening bilateral economic ties between the two region.
The 42 countries studied in the report include the member nations of the European Union, member nations of European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and Other European Countries (OEC).
