The manufacturing industry is currently witnessing the fourth industrial revolution, better known as Industry 4.0, where the 'real' and the 'virtual' worlds are to be seamlessly connected giving rise to what is known as cyber-physical production systems. As a result, the traditional manufacturing processes are undergoing an enormous transformation which will change the way companies approach manufacturing. Industry 4.0's primary appeal lies in its ability to act as an economic game-changer for companies through greater manufacturing flexibility to meet varied demand from customers. This report has been prepared to sensitize Indian Automotive Industry about the latest technologies and the fourth industrial revolution.
